I have called West Michigan my home for much of my life, growing up in Grand Rapids and eventually settling in southwest Michigan over 12 years ago. I received Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Music from the University of Michigan prior to obtaining my Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Western Michigan University.
I have worked in the medical field for several years, including the fields of ophthalmology and plastic surgery prior to joining Dr. Koziarski in 2005. For over 11 years, I have performed pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care of patients. I was also an integral part of Dr Koziarski’s operative team functioning as his first assistant. In 2015, I began formal training in functional medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine.
Functional Medicine involves the scientific based application of diet, nutrition, and lifestyle changes to alter disease progression and promote health.
I am married and the mother of three school-aged children, who all keep me incredibly busy and always smiling. When I am not chasing my kids to soccer practices, gymnastics meets or other school activities, I enjoy yoga, running, and growing our own food in our increasing number of raised-bed gardens. I also continue to keep music a part of my life by playing piano at our church.
